Currently, it will be kept in the Concession Stand, but there is a plan to place a box below the AED box on the exterior wall of the pavilion to ensure easy access, even when the concession stand is closed.
This ensures there are enough devices to equip each patrol vehicle, as well as a replacement device in case one is used. We are happy to have provided another community with a secondary rescue option in instances where current choking protocols fail to clear an airway blockage.
The residents at care facilities, such as Bentley, are at a higher risk for choking injuries or death. Sometimes current choking protocols aren't possible to use because of physical limitations. In these circumstances, an airway clearance device could be the only option to save someone in a choking emergency.
We hope that our efforts to educate our surrounding communities on choking prevention and by providing these devices to First Responders and Schools, we will grow our son's legacy and allow Maverick to leave his mark upon this world.
