Maverick's Legacy is a 501c3 non-profit started by Kimberly and Darrin Chambers, in memory of their son, Maverick Scott Chambers. Maverick tragically passed away April 23, 2022, at just 4 months and 26 days old from a choking accident.
We are dedicated to honoring the memory of Maverick by creating a positive impact on our community. Our mission is to promote infant and child safety through awareness and education, and to support families who have experienced the devastating loss of a child.
We strive to reduce preventable choking deaths and injuries by providing LifeVac devices to schools and first responders, and by spreading awareness about the importance of infant and child safety. Through our efforts, we hope to empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their children from harm.
In addition to our safety initiatives, we are committed to supporting families in their grief by offering acts of kindness and support. We believe that by coming together as a community, we can honor Maverick's legacy and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
At Maverick's Legacy, we are driven by our passion for helping others and our desire to make the world a safer, more compassionate place.
It warms my heart to know that we can honor our son's memory by helping to prevent choking injuries and death.
We could not provide these life saving devices without your donations, and we appreciate the support from our followers.
Together we can save a life!

Because of the generosity of our supporters, we were able to make a donation of 100 LifeVacs (YES! 100!!), enough to supply each of the 90 ambulances and 10 first responder vehicles that provide life-saving service throughout 39 townships in Morris County, NJ.
Each of their 7 schools received 4 devices each. They are currently working to ensure that the school nurses are trained to use these devices in case they are needed during a choking emergency. You can view the training video at www.lifevac.net/training to learn more!
We met with the Roxbury Fire and First Aid Department, which is made up of 3 separate companies of volunteer first responders. We told them about Maverick and were happy to provide them with 7 LifeVacs, a choking rescue device designed to be used in instances where standard choking protocols are not working to remove an airway blockage.

We donated 16 to the Newton School District, equipping each of their 4 schools with 4 choking rescue devices each.
It is imperative to get these tools into schools that are further out from first responders' reach, as every second counts in a choking emergency. We are grateful for the opportunity to help keep these kids a little bit safer.
We were warmly welcomed by the Sparta School District and provided them with 20 LifeVacs, enough to supply each of their 5 schools with 4 devices. We are grateful for the opportunity to keep these kids a little bit safer.
7 LifeVacs to the Sparta Police Department in Sparta, NJ. We are proud to be making a difference in memory of Maverick.
This is enough to provide at least one of these life saving devices per trooper vehicle.
Some of the officers I spoke with today were first responders for Maverick’s choking accident. We will be forever grateful for their efforts in trying to save him. We are hoping that the donation of these devices will help to save all choking victims that they respond to in the future.
We had the pleasure of meeting some of the students and the nurse at Northern Hills Academy, a special education school in Sparta, NJ. We donated 2 LifeVacs to the school, and although we hope they are never needed, we are grateful to have supplied them another rescue option in a choking emergency.
We had the opportunity to meet with some members of the Newton Police and donated 6 LifeVacs. We hope that by providing them with these important tools, lives will be saved.
Frankford Township Elementary and Middle School.
We also provide them to childcare organizations in addition to schools.
Tonight we met with the Colesville Fire Department, Beemerville Fire Department, and the Wantage Township First Aid Squad to donate a total of 11 LifeVacs across the 3 departments. As first responders, they deserve the tools that will help them to save lives, and we hope that our donation will fulfill a need in their toolkits.
It is a great comfort to bring the lifesaving tool to the families of Newton. Every donation to our cause increases the size of Maverick's footprint.
We hope it is never needed, but are grateful that we are able to provide them with this lifesaving device in case of a choking emergency.
While there we demonstrated how to use the LifeVac on a CPR dummy and we discussed the importance of being prepared for choking emergencies.
We provided them with a LifeVac to keep with their first aid kit, as they host many events for our community in their hall.
Together we can save a life.
There are 4 schools in total and so this donation allows each school to be fully stocked with 4 LifeVacs each. We are grateful to be able to provide this lifesaving device and to possibly prevent another family from suffering the nightmare of child-loss due to a choking accident.
We provided them one to keep at the Firehouse, as they host events throughout the year that many members of our community attend.
Together we can save a life!

I had the opportunity this morning to speak to the school nurse at Clifton E Lawrence Elementary School. We talked about LifeVac and how they are a great tool to have on hand in case choking emergency protocols, such as the Heimlich Maneuver, are not working to remove an obstruction. We donated enough for 4 in each of the 3 schools in the district. We hope they are never needed, but feel better that they are available just in case. These kids are just a little bit safer now.
Tonight we had the opportunity to tell Maverick's story and to spread awareness for choking emergency preparedness. We are grateful for the chance to speak with them and hope to help them save lives with this donation.
LifeVac is a non-powered, non-invasive, single-use only airway clearance device developed for resuscitating a victim with an airway obstruction when current choking protocols have been followed without success. LifeVac has a one-way valve that does not allow any air to enter a choking victim on the downward motion.
LifeVac is designed with a patented valve to prevent any air from exiting through the mask. This patented designed valve prevents air from pushing food or objects downward. This creates a one-way suction to remove the lodged food or object.
